Strip Remote ("the App") is published by Bulpara ("we", "us"). In short: the App collects no personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server that receives anything from it.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The App has no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, shows no ads, and makes no network requests to us.
2. What stays on your device
The App stores the following only on your iPhone or iPad, in its own sandbox:
- Your saved strips: their Bluetooth identifier and name, the name you gave them, the command set detected for them, colour calibration trims, last colour and brightness, and schedules
- Scenes and groups you create
- Preferences such as music-sync mode and sensitivity, and whether you've finished onboarding
- A count of successful reconnections, used only to decide when to show Apple's rating prompt
Widgets read a small copy of your last strip and four scenes through an App Group on the same device. Deleting the App removes all of this.
3. Permissions
- Bluetooth: to find and control your LED strips. The App scans for nearby strips by their advertised names and talks only to the ones you add. It also runs briefly in the background so widgets and Siri can switch your strips.
- Microphone (optional, music sync only): sound is analysed on the device, in real time, into bass, mid and treble levels that set the strip's colour. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and listening stops when you leave the music screen.
4. Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. The App checks your subscription status on the device using Apple's signed transaction data.
5. Email
If you email us (for example with "Email its name to us"), we receive what you send, such as your email address and your strip's Bluetooth name, and use it only to reply and to add support for new strips. Ask us any time to delete it.
6. Children
The App is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Third parties
The App contains no third-party SDKs that collect data. Apple's own services (the App Store, StoreKit, Siri, WidgetKit) are covered by Apple's privacy policy.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the App ever started collecting data, we would say so here and in the App Store privacy label before shipping that version.
